Trip Overview
Bhairav Kunda trekking is one of the finest short camping treks in Nepal with the essence of adventure into the off the beaten track in central Nepal. After exploring Kathamandu valley, we take drive to the north, ‘the gateway to the Tibet’ following the Bhote Koshi river valley to the trek starting point ‘ Jalbire’. The trek ascends through friendly ethnic villages, beautiful forest and on to the high of the trek at Bhairav Kunda (secret lake named after a destructive incarnation of Hindu God Shiva) situated near to the Tibet boarder revels a classic lake view with the incredible mountain panorama.
Outline Itinerary
- Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel / welcome Nepali style dinner with ethnic cultural program.
- Day 02 : Visit to Buddhist shrine and Hindu Pashupatinath temple: witness the sacred Hindu Cremation done in public way. PM is free.
- Day 03 : Drive to Jalbire, commence Bhairav Kunda trekking.
- Day 04-09 : Trekking to Historical site of Bhairav Kunda, a fascinating lake at an elevation over 4000 meters.
- Day 10-12 : An exploration of the surrounding hills of Bhairav Kunda for Himalayan vistas and descent down to Larcha, on the way to Nepal Tibet road. Explore the Nepal Tibet border Friendship bridge.
- Day 13 : Drive back to Kathmandu.
- Day 14 : Free day in Kathmandu.
- Day 15 : Trip end / Airport departure.
