Trip Overview

This fascinating Ama Dablam trekking trip to base camp of the world’s most beautiful mountain Ama Dablam offers superb views of Mount Everest and unforgettable scenery of its Base Camp. After exploring Kathmandu historical sights of Bhoudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath temple (to witness the Hindu cremation), we take exciting flight to Lukla (2827meters) with spectacular views of the mountains.

Ascend through the Dudh Koshi valley to the Sherpa settlement of Namche Bazaar (3440meters) an unofficial capital of the Sherpas unfolds the first majestic sight of Mt. Everest. A walk through the lovely forest to the world renowned and sacred monastery of Thyangboche (2827meters) is rewarded with the views of Everest soaring behind Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kangtega and Tawache.

We ascend from Pangboche to the alpine camp on the flanks of Ama Dablam, away from the popular trail to savor the stunning views of all the high mountains. The traditional Sherpa village of Khumjung shows you the Sherpa life style and so called Yeti scalp in a monastery before you fly out from Lukla to Kathmandu to end your exhilarating trek to Amadablam Base Camp.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel / Nepali dinner with cultural program.
  • Day 2 : Explore the sights and sounds in Kathmandu valley / Trek preparation.
  • Day 3 : Fly to Lukla and commence trek, walking along the Dudh Koshi river valley.
  • Days 4 - 6 : Continue walking along river, then climb to the Sherpa capital, Namche Bazaar. Enjoy the majestic look of Mt. Everest. Acclimatisation rest day. Optional walks long beautiful Imja Kola Valley.
  • Day 7 : Trek to Thyangboche Monastery. Amazing views of Ama Dablam, Kantega, Everest, Lhotse and Nupste / Sleep under the shadow of Ama Dablam.
  • Days 8 - 9 : Ascend to spellbound Ama Dablam Base Camp away from the regular trail.
  • Days 10 - 12 : Trek to Lukla, via Himalayan settlement of Khumjung and Kunde. Visit to Hillary Hospital and School inside the clouds.
  • Days 13 : Fly to Kathmandu. Free day to explore.
  • Day 14 : Free day in Kathmandu to Explore its wonder.
  • Day 15 : Trip ends and airport transfer.
