Trip Overview

Around Dhaulagiri is a tough yet spectacular trekking round the colossal peak of the world’s seventh highest peak Dhaulagiri (8167m), rises majestically in isolation above the deep cliff of the Kali Gandaki valley unfolds breathtaking circuit adventure trekking at its best.

The trails can be difficult, following glaciers and crossing high snowcapped passes challenge suited only to fit individuals wishing to take on an adventure. Walk through the pristine valley of Myagdi, lush terraced hillsides; traditional villages, rugged terrain of massif Dhaulagiri, tough but technically straightforward French and Thapa passes are simply sensational for the everlasting memories being in Himalayas.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel / welcome dinner with ethnic cultural program.
  • Day 2 : Visit to Buddhist shrine and Hindu Pashupatinath temple: witness the sacred Hindu Cremation done in public way. PM is free.
  • Day 3 : Drive to Beni and start around Dhaulagiri trekking.
  • Day 4 - 10 : Trekking to Italian base camp (3590m) ascending thorough Darbang, Baghra, Doban, Sallagari: savour the stunning Himalayan peaks beauty of Churen Himal, Gurja, Ghustung south, Tsarabang peak, Jirbang, Manapati peaks on the way.
  • Day 11 - 12 : Trekking to Dhaulagiri Depot Camp (4490m) after having acclimatization rest day Italian base camp.
  • Day 13 : Trekking to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4750m).
  • Day 14 : Ascent to Hidden Valley camp (5025m), cross the challenging French pass: wonderful Himalayan vistas of Dhaulagir I, II, III, V, Taski Kang, Mukut Himal, Tukuche peaks all around the Hidden valley.
  • Days 15-16 : Trekking to Yak Kharkha, cross the Dhampus pass.
  • Days 17 - 23 : Descent down to Nayapul via famed Poon hill: short drive to Pokhara / hotel
  • Days 24 - 25 : Himalayan flight form Pokhara to Kathmandu / Free to explore Kathmandu valley or souvenir shopping.
  • Day 26 : Trip end / Airport departure.
