Trip Overview

Gokyo Everest base camp trekking trip unfolds the ultimate and complete experience of trekking in Everest region. This Chola pass trek is arguably most dramatic and interesting trekking route in Everest region which combines the famed Khumbu with Gokyo valley allowing us to trek over the Chola. Your visit to pristine Gokyo lakes, Khumbu valley, Everest Base camp, Kala Pathar and Gokyo peak is breathtaking for fantastic panoramic views of the world’s highest mountains: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, Thamaserku, Tawache all around you.

After exploring the sights and sounds of Kathmandu, we take exciting mountain flight to Lukla, the gateway for Gokyo Everest trekking. Having proper acclimatization and enjoying the taste of Sherpa hospitability and culture we ascend up to the relatively less trekked Gokyo valley passing through clusters of birch and rhododendron forest. The towering Himalayan profile is incredible as you head through the yak pasture settlements to the dazzling Gokyo lakes, where we can see the Tibetan duck.

The exploration ascend to Gokyo peak, probably the most spectacular view point in Nepal, dazzles you with it 360 degree Mountain Profile including Everest, Lhotse, Cho – Oyu, Makalu: all 8000 meter peaks. From Gokyo valley we trek via Chola Pass on the way to Kala Pathar and Everest Base Camp.

Crossing Chola pass is one of the strenuous stuff, but so amazing to pick up the way among these magestic ice peaks to come face to face. Once again standing on Kala Pathar (5545m) peak you find yourselves amid towering snowy peaks – it is truly Himalayan magic, which has been drawing thousand of trekkers and climbers every year.

We explore the Everest base camp and visit the famed Khumjung village and Thyanboche monastery on the way back to Kathmandu to end our memorable adventure holiday trip to Gokyo Everest Kalapathar trekking.
