Trip Overview

Island peak expedition with Everest base camp trip offers an excellent opportunity to achieve the Himalayan summit together with an exhilarating trek to Everest base camp and Kala Pathar. Island peak is situated in Imjatse valley between Ama Dablam and Lhotse peaks is one of the famous trekking peaks at 6189 meter in the Himalaya. Physically fit and well acclimatise trekkers can qualify to join this treking peak climbing in Himalaya. In our specially organized climbing clinic course at Island peak base camp you will be fully briefed and instructed by our experience climbing guides on required skills and confidence to help you to achieve your goal to summit the Island peak top.

Witnessing the incredible cultural sites in bustling Katmandu valley, we take a exotic  mountain flight to Lukla which takes us into an alpine world where the air is crystal clear and colorful prayer flags flutter on the back drop of white mountains making wonderful contrast.

Following up the classic Everest base camp and Kala Pathar trekking route, we trek to prosperous Himalayan settlement of Namche Bazzar and then less tordden route via Khumjung and Photse village which allow more time for proper acclimations and explorr the diffenet routes.

Further up Dingboche along the torrential Imja Khola to the high Khumbu valley to Everest base camp and Kala Pathar and then to Island peak in our island peak expedition trip. After undertaking acclimatization hike to Kala Pathar and Everest base camp, we are all now fit and well acclimatized and ready to face the challenge ahead us to climb the Island peak in Himalayas.

After the climbing clinic course at Island peak base camp, we ascent a full day strenouse  climbing to the Island peak summit. The ice ramp pitch to gain the summit ridge is challenging enough but not a very technical climb. As a safety measure fixed ropes will be used for a safe ascent to the top.

Himalayas panorama from the top is breathtaking. To our left looms the awesome face of Lhotse, ahead Makalu appears over Cho Polu ridge and behind Ama Dablam, Tawache and Cholatse dominate an incredible mountainscape stretching far beyond the Khumbu valley. It is fascinating moment and we have time to savour it before heading back to base camp. We return different way via Thyanboche to Lukla to end our adventure to Island peak Expedition with Everest Base camp.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel and welcome dinner with Nepali cultural program.
  • Day 02 : Explore Buddhist Boudhnath and Hindu temple of Pashupatinath: witness Hindu cremation done in public, afternoon free.
  • Day 03 - 06 : Fly to Lukla and commence trek along the Dudh Koshi valley to Namche Bazzar, first majestic views of Mt. Everest. Acclimatision day at Namche
  • Day 06-09 : A rest day at Namche - great local walks and scenery. Trek to via Khumjung and Phortse tanga to Dingboche, with rugged high alpine scenery high above the tree line. Another inportant acclimatisation day.
  • Days 10 : Trek up the Imja Khola valley to Lobuche with extraordinary scenery.
  • Day 11 : Continue through great glacial moraines to Gorak Shep. Climb Kala Pathar for amazing views of Everest and Nuptse dominating a sea of other summits.
  • Day 12 : Morning Excursion to Everest Base Camp. Trekking down to Dingboche.
  • Days 13 - 14 : Ascend to Island peak base camp/ Rest and climbing clinic course for the required skills to summit the top successfully.
  • Days 15 –16 : Early start to summit the Island peak: sensational Himalayan panorama. Descend to base camp. Extra contengency day for climbing
  • Days 17 -19 : Trekking down to Lukla via Thyanboche different route.
  • Days 20 - 21 : Fly to Kathmandu and enjoy a free day / Explore Kathmandu’ wonders.
  • Day 22 : Island peak expeditions / Airport transportation
